These skillet rolls make a delightful (and surprisingly easy) addition to any dinner table. Cooked & served in our FINEX 12β³ Cast Iron Skillet they look lovely and taste even better.
Ingredients
- 2β βyeastβ packets, ΒΎ βozβ
- 6 Tbsp sugar, divided
- ΒΌ C warm water
- 1 ΒΌ C milk
- ΒΎ tsp table salt
- ΒΌ C unsalted butter
- 4 Β½ C all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Baking spray
- 1 tsp Jacobsen Flake Finishing Salt
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Directions
- Preheatβ βovenβ βtoβ β375F.
- Mixββ ββyeastββ βandββ 1 Tbsp ββsugarββ βin warmβ βwater, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Warmββ βthe milkβ over low heat, stir inβ remaining ββsugarβ,β ββsaltβ and ββbutterββ βuntil salt and sugar are mostly dissolved and mixture is βlukewarm.
- Mixβ beatenβ βeggβ inβtoβ βtheβ βyeastβ and sugar water solution.β β
- Combineβ βtheβ βyeastβ & egg βmixture,β βtheβ βmilk mixture,β βandβ βallβ βofβ βtheβ βflour.β Stirβ βtoβ βcombineβ βwell, cover and let rest (15 mins).
- Usingβ βaβ βstandβ βmixerβ βwithβ βaβ βdoughβ βhook,β βkneadβ βthe doughβ βforβ β5β βminutes.
- Onβ βaβ βflouredβ βsurface,β βrollβ βoutβ βtheβ βdoughβ βandβ βand divideβ βitβ equally βintoβ 15-β18β βballs, between golf ball and tennis ball in size. Coverβ βandβ βlet riseβ βforβ β25β-30 βminutes at room temperature.
- βApplyββ βbakingβ βsprayβ evenly to a FINEX 12β³ Cast Iron Skillet then arrangeβ βtheβ βdoughβ βballs in the skillet, gently resting against each other and the edges of the skillet.
- Sprinkle the rolls with Jacobsen Flake Finishing Salt. Bake for 18-25 minutes, or until the surface of the rolls turns golden brown. Brush with melted butter and serve warm. Enjoy!
